One of Australia’s most respected educators and leaders, Dr Chris Sarra, has brought his institute to the Caboolture CBD.

Moreton Bay Regional Council Mayor Allan Sutherland attended the official opening and presented Dr Sarra with keys to the Stronger Smarter Institute’s new King Street office.

Mayor Sutherland said it was an honour working to have Dr Sarra and the Stronger Smarter Institute operate their innovative program out of the Caboolture CBD.

“Dr Sarra is an outstanding Australian  whose efforts continue enrich the lives of many Australians by emphasising the importance of positive, dynamic and innovative education in schools,” Mayor Sutherland said.

“It’s through Chris’ vision and hard work that quality education for all Australians continues to have a platform.

“The proactive work of the Stronger Smarter Institute can only mean good things for Caboolture and the Moreton Bay Region.”

“Both educators and community leaders from all over the country will visit Caboolture to gain important professional development skills with the added bonus of experiencing the Moreton Bay Region.”

Division 3 Councillor Greg Chippendale said King Street, in the heart of Caboolture’s town centre, was the ideal location for such a highly recognised organisation.

“We welcome Dr Sarra, a Queenslander of the Year and finalist for Australian of the Year, and the Stronger Smarter Institute to Caboolture’s CBD,” Cr Chippendale said.

“This is a three year partnership between Stronger Smarter and the council which ensures that the institution can continue to liaise with educators, teachers and community leaders to develop an innovative education model for all young Australians.”

Dr Chris Sarra is the founder of the Stronger Smarter Institute, was Queenslander of the Year in 2004 and was a National Finalist for Australian of the Year in 2010.

He holds a PhD in Psychology, Master’s Degree in Education and is also a Commissioner for the NRL.

The Stronger Smarter Institute is a not-for-profit organisation working to improve the educational outcomes of Indigenous Australians by providing professional development and resources to school and community leaders.
