Reconciliation Australia – Schools Program

Reconciliation Australia – Schools Program

Dear Teachers,

Are you a teacher passionate about reconciliation in schools? Do you create meaningful, respectful relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, families and communities and other Australians?

The new schools program at Reconciliation Australia is looking for a group of enthusiastic teachers who are committed to implementing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander content in their classrooms and across the wider school community.

Reconciliation Australia is looking for teachers who:

–          would like to share their knowledge and practice with other passionate educators

–          are interested in taking new ideas back to their school communities

–          have an understanding of the Australian Curriculum cross curriculum priority of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories and cultures

–          are aware of the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers (focus areas 1.4 and 2.4).

As part of the trial we intend to use social media platforms as a means for the participants of the network to communicate and share information.

If you have a track record of reconciliation action in schools, the ability to share your teaching experiences with others in a network, and the desire to share knowledge with colleagues, we would love to hear from you.
